Full moon tonight--but will I see it? Yes, I think so.

It's been a wet year. Recently water was discovered on the moon. Or maybe it was more water than previously suspected. In any case, there's water there.

Looking at the morning paper, I discovered that I missed the last full moon. It slipped right by me.

Many days I patiently wait for the moon to become full, knowing that it won't--not on that particular day. So many things are like this.

The moon isn't full, but my head is. It's the last day of the year, and I have a lot I want to get done before the new year begins. I wish everyone happiness and good health in 2011!

Time for the Viewpoint again. By now the moon has waned a good deal since I took this photo the other night.

Tonight, with all the wind and snow, is a very different night from last. But last night wasn't warm--not by a long shot.

Well, the moon doesn't yield itself up easily. Sometime you really have to fight hard to get a decent shot of it.

Last night I took a couple shots of Jupiter and the moon. The sky was partly clouded over, so I don't know whether Jupiter will show up in the photos. I'm not sure when I took the photo below.

The moon reflected on the lake is stunning around this time of year.

Busy at the Archives today. I'm struggling with how orange to make the trunk of the Sentinel when I paint it.

It may be full moon. It looks full, but that's no guarantee.

I took several shots of this scene, at different exposures. Each one has a different meaning for me.

We know about so many celestial bodies so much further away than the moon that you would think the moon would be nothing special at this point. But it still seems intangible. We see it over and over again and yet we never set foot on it.

The fence is a dividing line. All that occurs along that line is of interest to me. At all leads to the Viewpoint.

The moon sits above the fence, and at the same time, beyond it. The fence is a dividing line in space, the dirt pile a dividing line in time. Sometimes one sees children playing in it--the dirt, I mean.
